The history of the formation, development and activities of the museum institution in the Moscow Kremlin spans almost three centuries, during which there have been periods of high growth, rapid development of museum and scientific work, periods of literally heroic struggle for the preservation of national relics, as well as failures, oblivion and revival. The history of the museum in the Kremlin, in the very heart of the country, has always been inseparable from the history of the Russian state.
In 2025, the entire country will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – an event of immense global significance. We pay tribute to the heroes of the war: the soldiers who defended the Homeland in battles on the front and the people in civilian professions who worked day and night in the rear to bring the great day - Victory Day - closer.
The history of the Moscow Kremlin reflects all the events that have taken place in the country – wars, popular uprisings, changes of monarchs and ruling regimes, economic and political reforms.
